ECPSF celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week: May 3-7, 2021

Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation is proud to partner with Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor and an anonymous donor to celebrate Eau Claire Area School District’s teachers and staff for Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, 2021.

Teacher Appreciation Week has been a national institution since the 1950’s. This year, each of the 1,200+ teachers and school building staff members in Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD) are receiving a custom coupon for a free waffle cone from Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor, in appreciation for their work with students. The idea came from Superintendent Mike Johnson, looking for a way to show those who work with our children just how valued they are, especially amidst all they have taken on as education models changed in the pandemic. An anonymous donor was gracious to support the initiative.

The dessert destination is locally owned and operated by ECASD graduates and parents, Blayne and Kayla Midthun. “We believe that educators are the building block of a community,” Kayla shared. “We have experienced firsthand, both as alumni and as parents, the passion and dedication ECASD educators lead with!”

Superintendent, Mike Johnson, shared his gratitude for the impact of the District’s teachers and staff as well. “Our teachers and staff do incredible work for our students. Teacher Appreciation Week is just one opportunity for us to show them how much we value their important work with our kids. They are the lifeblood of our district, and we are so grateful for them.”

With over 50 funds supporting the District’s twenty schools, ECPSF offers fund types for varying donor interests and District needs. Each of the twenty schools have their own Fund for Today, and special interest funds support more specific needs and supplementary programming at the schools. Through charitable donations gifted from community members and businesses, ECPSF is able to provide schools with their greatest needs, support educator creativity, and grow endowment funds to enable future giving.
