Play & Learning

The current playground is perfect for our younger students. We are seeking appropriate and engaging playground equipment for our 4th and 5th grade students.

Friends of Locust Lane

64% of our families live in poverty and struggle to provide basic items for their children. The Helping Hands Fund provides essentials such as winter clothes, coats, etc., as well as funds for needy students to participate in special non-athletic programs and field trips.

Books & Reading for All

Reading is the best predictor of school success. Every child must have books of their very own. At Locust Lane we work to give students a book of their own three times per year.

Learning with Technology

Digital cameras and voice recorders ($450) are great teaching and learning tools. Remote mice ($150), a MP listening center ($250) and a Califone Spirit CD/Cassette Listening Center (150) will give our English language learners the tools they need to succeed ($150). Document cameras bring the classrooms alive for close up looks at pictures and science specimens ($650).

Books & Literacy

Books and reading are a centerpiece to our school We are seeking reading rocking chairs ($190), a Highsmith reading sofa and chairs ($625), a Highsmith stepping stool ($100), and a lowboy shelving stool ($85).

Girls on the Run

This program for 3rd – 5th grade girls provides a chance to build health, self-awareness, and self-confidence through exercise. Donations to this program will allow all girls to have a chance to fully participate in the program.
